WasabiTV is an online portal for independent film and community TV shows to distribute and promote their products. It was launched a month ago by Ananth Sarathy and Daniel Brunet, who came up with the idea after watching community TV! With no commercial backing (or obligations) the website is totally focused on a customer experience approach and is aiming to work on a multiple number of portable devices. WasabiTV is all about “TV on the GO” providing the ability to download FREE content for iPods, Playstation Portables and even the Microsoft Zune with one click. Producers send some details through, WasabiTV then sends them details back, to start publishing their content. It’s a one stop FREE shop for producers and consumers to download their content, in a new and unique way not previously seen in Australia. The guys are that passionate about it, that they both work full time jobs (Ananth 2 jobs and Daniel 3 jobs) to help pay for all the over heads and keep the Wasabi flowing! So where to WasabiTV from here? With new features and content coming on all the time, the sky is the limit to showcase what Australia can produce in Information Technology innovation. WasabiTV is an idea that has started out of a need!! by two Techno Lovers who could see a massive gap in the TV / Digital Transmission medium. Not digital broadcasting but digital distribution in the community TV sphere, and with most corporate networks. Networks, who are not bold enough to go out and challenge conventional ways of communicating with their audiences.
