My first love is photographing local wildlife, particularly birds. There is something exciting about being able to catch the glint in their eyes; it's even more exciting to me than a well-timed action shot. When I got pack into painting, I decided I wanted to explore these characters even further. The glint in they eye was a peek at the soul within and I want to make their personality shine through. I use the saturated, cheerful colours of acrylics to recreate the world I imagine the ways the birds may view it, which may see somewhat dreamlike to us. The vast majority of the works on this site are based on photos of my own, except where otherwise noted, as well as my own imagination.
