As designers, we work in a field that I will argue has the most ambiguous titles of all professions. With every new definition and permutation of the word “design”, we must continually redefine ourselves and our worth. I will also argue that this is relevant to careers beyond the design realm. With the exponential growth in technology, we are learning, building and working on fly. We’re moving away from the days of being an accountant, plumber, police officer, into the career abyss — specialities on specialties — picking up new skills as we go, that before now, had been completely unheard of.
