I am a veteran, with two veteran parents, one of whom suffers from PTSD. It became evident to me that my parent's invisible disability made it nearly impossible to communicate effectively while out and about in the world. A veteran with PTSD may struggle with interacting with others, and once the other person is aware of the issue, they are much more apt to be patient and respectful with the veteran.
