My husband and I are Dutch and our last name is pronounced "batches". My art is created in small batches, usually one of something or a small "batch" of something. A large part of my daily drawing is with gel pen and Crayola crayons in the form of personalized note cards for family and friends. At the end of the calendar year, I use drawings completed from that year, to create custom calendars. I was born and raised in rural western Michigan, attended primary, publishing, horticulture and art schools in Michigan, New York City, Massachusetts and Texas, and currently live in Austin, TX.
