Sandy DeLuca's Fine Art & Clothing

Through the years my work has ranged from whimsical fantasy pieces, to dark emotional work and on to the totally abstract. I use vibrant color, often combining paint with fabric, handmade papers and words. My favorite medium is acrylic paint. However, I also use oils, pastels and watercolor. Lately I’ve been experimenting with digital art. I use various digital software to embellish my original art, or public domain web graphics. At times I make my own web designs from scratch. I am now in the process of creating clothing from my digital designs. Despite experimentation with other mediums, including writing, working with paint and canvas gives me no greater satisfaction. I try to create what I call a small ‘paint sketch’ each day before returning to larger projects. As a writer of dark fiction my art is moving more and more into the darker realms of the imagination. I am also a writer, having produced novel five novels: SETTLING IN NAZARETH, DESCENT, MANHATTAN GRIMOIRE, FROM ASHES AND REQUIEM FOR THE DEAD. My poetry chapbook, BURIAL PLOT IN SAGITTARIUS, was nominated for the BRAM STOKER award in 2001. I recently completed a novella entitled THEIR CHILDREN’S CRIES UNHEARD.
