Rational Animal

Rational Animal is a 501(c)(3) non-profit which works to improve the lives of homeless animals, working animals, and wildlife by using media and marketing to communicate to the public facts and issues within the animal welfare realm as well as educate people on the actions they can take to help animals and help prevent harm to them. We partner with media outlets, celebrities, corporations, and artists. We also help raise money for rescues and shelters so they can carry out their vital work of caring for needy animals, finding them homes, and curbing the homeless animal population. Founder Susan Brandt set out to form Rational Animal in 2001, as she believed that with so many animals’ lives at risk due to the actions of humans (often committed unknowingly), more information about positive actions people can take to benefit animals can only help prevent these problems. Rational Animal is driven by a core of professionals, including writers, artists and designers, filmmakers, editors, and artists – all animal lovers who donate their time and skills toward media campaigns and special projects focused on today’s animal awareness issues.
