On Friday, May 27th, imagine thousands of citizens who are first-generation college graduates (FG’s); future FG’s and FG allies walking the streets, boarding buses, subways, airplanes or teaching a class---all wearing green. Each one of them serving as a powerful vocal and visible champion that stands with the thousands of kids and adults currently on their FG college journey. Whether an FG or FG ally, there are three key ways to join the movement: *Wear #ProofPointDay green on Friday, May 27th. Share with people why you are wearing green, share the history and message of #ProofPointDay, and ask others around you to participate in wearing green. *Hold an event for National #ProofPointDay at your school, college, work or place of worship. The toolkits provide concrete ideas and sample materials to bring your #ProofPointDay event alive---no matter how big or small. *Take or publicize the National #ProofPointDay Pledge, a commitment by FG leaders to be more vocal and visible about the first generation (FG) part of their identity. By signing the pledge FG’s commit to always include first generation college graduate on their resume and/or bio. Because seeing yourself matters.
