Matthews Aviation Art

In my artwork I’ve tried to capture the excitement of flight combined with an appreciation for vintage and experimental aircraft. My goal is to bring you along for a ride and I want you to feel as though you have a window seat. You may not be familiar with some of the planes in my collections, while others will be very well known. Some of my work is focused on the “what-if” planes that never went farther than an engineer’s desk, and were never produced. All of my work is digital. I begin with a set of orthographic drawings and photo references with the end goal of creating a 3D model of the subject aircraft. I then “paint” the planes, and import them into scenery which I also create digitally.
