About Fine art inspired by Fantasy, mythology and the paranormal. My name is Gemma Luxford and I am the artist behind G-LuxArt. I have always wanted to be an artist as far back as I can remember. It was one of my favourite subjects, the other was English Literature. I love to read and I think thats where a lot of my ideas come from. The mysterious beautiful worlds and characters I visit when emerged in a book. Since I was kid I loved magical, mythological and paranormal subject matter. I studied them in my spare time as often as I could, Spent hours upon hours in the local library, feeding my imagination. My dreams of being an artist didn’t happen as my mother fell ill while I was studying it in college. I made the choice to leave and look after her and then when I returned the following year I chose a profession that I thought I could support my mum and sister with, nursery nursing. Painting became just a hobby and my calm place to escape to. Music has always helped me stay in that zone too. I listen to my music even when I am reading. My own handpicked soundtracks that inspire me and sooth me. Twoyears ago a dear friend of mine told me that I had talent and should open an online shop. It is my dream to be able to support my family by being an artist. I want to make my two little girls proud as they are my biggest fans and inspirations, my real life fairies! :) Art is my life and without it I think I would be lost. I had a deep need to be creative everyday of my life. Its what makes me truly and completely happy. I hope that you too will find inspiration, happiness and wonderment in my work.
