There's a book called The Red Tent about women in ancient times and how they supported each other through life. It was called the Red Tent because the women congregated there during there cylces and childbirth when they were cultural deemed "unclean". My store name is a riff on that concept because I would like to create that community for marginalized women of color or otherwise. It is my hope and desire to offer a alternative to the stereotype or be part of the solution to the problem of us being under represented in media, STEM, or other arenas.
