Chelou Creations is a shop specializing in "Hidden WORD art" which might have you wondering...---What exactly is "Hidden WORD" art?--- It's a style that I believe God has called me to create; a process in which I “hide” the names of God, scripture, and sometimes positive and encouraging words or phrases. ----WHY "Hidden WORD"?-----I do this for 3 reasons. First, to provide art depicting my faith; second, to demonstrate the reality of the material things and secular ideals of this world that try to pull us further and further from our roots in Judaeo-Christian beliefs and third; to provide art that may appeal to believers and nonbelievers alike. Expressing my passion for God in this way is a very meditative process for me.-----HOW is "Hidden WORD" art created?-----I always begin with a clear word, name or message and then every additional line, color and embellishment is made with the intent to deliberately distract the viewer from the message. At times it can be as challenging for me to hide the message without obliterating it altogether as it is for the viewer to find it!-----WHO chooses "Hidden WORD" art?-----Collectors are often drawn first to the riot of color and shapes, then to the more intricate doodling and finally to asking about how and why I choose to hide the message. As I explain the how and why and then reveal to them the hidden message, their eyes often express wonder and delight. They love the idea of placing a piece of my art in their home or office. Visitors will often ask them about the piece and they can then enjoy sharing the hidden message, themselves.
