i LOVE to paint, am completely addicted to hiding out & painting, day or night. hub & i volunteer with/support Peace of Mind Dog Rescue [POMDR] [www.peaceofminddogrescue.org]. all my proceeds & products have been donated to Peace of Mind Dog Rescue & are sold at their volunteer-staffed center & their new benefit shop. Effective Aug 6, 2021, during COVID shutdown,i got permission from POMDR boss, Carie Broecker, to donate my cards to Nor Cal Boxer Rescue [www.ncbr.org], AFRP & SPCA benefit shops. Many of my subjects are POMDR & NCBR rescue dogs. POMDR & NCBR are dedicated to finding new loving homes for dogs whose guardians can no longer care for them due to illness, death or dire life changes, and to finding homes for senior dogs in animal shelters. Volunteers also walk dogs for elderly clients limited by health problems and dogs being temporarily boarded in vet hospitals [awaiting foster homes or adoption]. i practiced emergency/trauma medicine x 35 yrs, absolutely loved it because you have to set up immediate intense bonds of caring for/with people. the past few years, i've been playing around with painting water colors and acrylics, started printing my paintings on cards, Tshirts, totes and donating all my items and proceeds to Peace of Mind Dog Rescue [& now Nor Cal Boxer Rescue. AFRP & SPCA benefit shops] my hubfriend, john, transports dogs from shelters/vet hospitals/foster homes for POMDR & walks dogs boarded at vet hospitals. We rescued our nut job Boxer, Izzy, thru NCBR. she is the fractured-tailed HAPPY pup. POMDR & NCBR are organized, effective, & with HUGE hearts and funny bones. We've had two fundraising Tshirt campaigns thru POMDR, one with the POMDR truck, the other with Austin's motto [young man killed in Vegas shooting Oct 2017:] "Throw kindness around like confetti". we are completely addicted to Peace of Mind Dog Rescue, Nor Cal Boxer Rescue & Animal Friends Rescue Project, supporting their missions rescuing & caring for these lovely pups.
