My name is Gladys and my indigenous name is Aqivgaq. I grew up in a small rural community in Alaska in the midst of the Brooks Range. I found my medium pen & ink and acrylic paint ten years ago. I had an amazing art teacher at the University of Alaska Fairbanks to help me find my medium. I've always wanted to share my dreams and visions with people through art. My primary work is abstract. I love sharing mythology stories from the region I'm from, primarily Nunamiut (People of the Land) stories. The stories are my own personal experiences.
