Tree of Life

Tree of Life by William Morris. The "Tree of Life" is one of William Morris' most well known works. You can readily see his attention to detail in this wonderful tapestry, whose symbolic meaning, according to the Biblical story of Adam and Eve, is everlasting life or immortality. William Morris (24 March 1834 – 3 October 1896) was a British textile designer, poet, novelist, translator, and socialist activist. He was a major contributor to the revival of traditional British textile arts and methods of production.
