Monastic Martyr Anastasius the Persian Icon

Monastic Martyr Anastasios the Persian was a 7th-century Persian soldier who converted to Christianity after witnessing the Holy Cross. He left the army, became a monk in Jerusalem, and later went to Persia to preach the gospel. He was captured by the Persian army, tortured and martyred by strangulation and beheading.
