MUNI Metro

MUNI's Metro system has been the backbone of San Francisco's transit network for over a century. Beginning as streetcars, these lines connected the suburbs to the city, and the tunnels built through the hills to get there kept these lines alive and well even when the rest of the world was tearing out streetcars and replacing them with busses.
