Fairies by John Atkinson Grimshaw

Collection of fairy paintings by British artist John Atkinson Grimshaw. Most designs are inspired by the painting is Spirit of the night (1879). Three of them (postcard, card and poster) focus on the artistry of John Atkinson Grimshaw - my part has been to digitally restore the painting, to make enhancements that I hope will result in a really beautiful poster. With the fourth design, the birthday postcard, I have chosen a more playful approach. Here Grimshaw's lovely fairy hovers high above the ground, actually, among the stars, and is probably busy preparing for a very special, magical, birthday. The last design, also an art postcard, is inspired by another of Grimshaw's fairy paintings, titled Dame Autumn has a mournful face (1871).
