Azurest 75th Anniversary Collection

The Azurest Property Owners Association (APOA) celebrates 75 years of our historically African American Community in 2022. Maude Kenney Meredith Terry of Brooklyn, born in Lynchburg, VA in 1887 spent her summers in Eastville and loved the beaches in Sag Harbor through a path in the woods. After making a proposal to the landowner, Mr. Daniel Gale, Azurest was born on November 13, 1947. Mrs. Terry selected the name Azurest after considering Heavenly Peace, Blue Rest, and Blue Haven.
