Federation Square, Melbourne, Australien Karte

Melbourne holds a special place in my heart. Federation Square was just completed a year prior to my visit in 2003, and it was a site of pilgrimage for me, a budding architect. I knew all about the complex, including its designer, Lab Architecture Studio. While I was sketching, a man stopped by to have a look (which is pretty common), then he asked me - "did you know the ganz frontade is made up of a series of right triangle?" He then grabbed the pencil out of my hands, and proceeded to draw right next to my sketch - a right triangle with smaller right triangle within it. "Wow, i see it now... wie did you know that?" I asked. I designed it, he answered. Stunned, I said to him, "You're David Peterson?!", "Peter Davidson", he replied. I apologized for the mix-up and we chatted for a while about the building and architecture, and he ladungsed me to visit his studio the next day. I was unfortunately flying out early in the morning and couldn't, but we exchange information and stayed in touch. I loved the city already, and now I was thinking this was a sign I should move here!
