These are photo images of real historic pins. Each star on these pins represent a state where women could vote. States could pass laws to allow women in their state to vote even if it wasn't federal law. The 19th Amendment made it legal in all states for women to vote whether they passed state laws or not. Mississippi finally ratified the 19th Amendment in 1984!
