Carte Postale Natchez Trace Parkway

The Natchez Trace Parkway is a 444-mile scenic road and historic corridor stretching from Natchez, Mississippi, through Alabama, up to Nashville, Tennessee. It roughly follows the “Old Natchez Trace,” a path used for thousands of years by Native Americans, traders, settlers, and travelers. It’s managed by the U.S. National Park Service and is designed for leisure travel rather than commercial traffic. Along the Parkway there are many opportunities for recreation and history: hiking, biking, horseback riding, camping, overlooks, historic sites, and interpretive exhibits. Highlights include original trail segments, Indigenous sites, old inns or “stands” where travelers once rested, battlesites, and unique features like the Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge in Tennessee.
