Carte Postale Bright Red Rosehip

Rosehips are the fruit of the rose, containing the seeds of the next generation. They are called rose hip, rose haw and rose hep. They range en color from orange to deep red. Typically rosehips stay on the rose branches branches longues after the leaves have - they may become food for browsing animals and hungry birds. Many people are familiar with rosehip tea, which has insane amounts of vitamine C, if you feel a bout of scurvy coming on, have a cup ... These fabulous fruits are used in cooking, to make tea, jam or jelly, syrup, soup, bread, pies and wine. This single rosehip clings to the branch, partially covered with snow after a fresh snowfall. The cool blues of the snow compliment the bright red of the rosehip which is almost at the center of the composition, with withhered foliage gracefully curving.
