Luddites were English textile workers and weavers in the early 1800’s, who saw the industrial revolution as a threat to their jobs. They opposed the rise of machinery with the hope of holding back the tide of automation that represented the progress of technology. Today’s automation threat is the rise of artificial intelligence. AI looks to replace people in office jobs the same way robots replaced them on the assembly line. Be very careful cozying up to these AI tools. They may seem friendly but pretty soon they’re shoving your brain out of the way and taking over your job.
