Calendrier The Meaning of Food 2026 Calendar
Food is more than what’s on our plate—it’s culture, connection, and justice. Northwest Harvest's 2026 calendar, The Meaning of Food, invites you to explore these truths through twelve original works of art created by Washington state artists from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities.
This calendar grew out of Artists for Food Justice, a collaboration within our yearlong initiative, The Meaning of Food. Each piece reflects the power of food—not just to nourish, but to heal, unite, and transform—and challenges us to see hunger as a systemic issue that calls for collective action.
Featuring vibrant, thought-provoking artwork by Stevie Shao, sam Jungwoo, Marisol Ortega, Louie Gong, Deycha Nhtae, Santa Mercita, Reinaldo Gil Zambrano, Rodney King, Esmeralda Vasquez, Paige Pettibon, Spur Lowe Driver, and Eddie Gonzalez, this calendar is more than a way to mark the days—it’s a conversation starter, a source of inspiration, and a celebration of creativity and justice.
Northwest Harvest is a food justice organization striving to end hunger in Washington state. Part of a justice-centered movement, we advocate to change inequitable policies, practices, and institutions that perpetuate hunger and poverty. We partner with a network of over 375 organizations to operate an emergency food supply chain. Together, we ensure communities across our state can access the nutritious food they want and need to thrive.
