We have added the faux antique gold accents. Sojourner Truth was an American abolitionist of New York Dutch heritage and a women's rights activist. Sojourner was born into slavery in Swartekill, New York and she eventually escaped to freedom with her baby daughter in 1826. In 1828 she went to court and sued to recover her enslaved son and became the first former black American slave woman to prevail in this type of lawsuit against a white man.
