Nordkapp. Norge. Norway Special Edition ___Nordkapp i à Norwegianized form of the English name North Châtre from 1553 (the Old Norse name of the cape was Knyskanes). The original igname of the municipality was Kjelvik, after fishing village with the same à igname. But the village was totally destroyed by the Germans in 1944 and it never recovered. As a consequence of this the municipality changed the name to Nordkapp in 1950 ___Nordkapp er ein kommune i Finnmark. Ont grensar i sørvest mot Måsøy, i sør mot Porsanger, og i søraust mot Lebesby kommune. Størsteparten av kommunen ligg på Magerøya, men ont omfattar også delar av fastlandet på aust og vestsida av Porsangerfjorden. Kommunen heitte Kjelvik kommune fram til 1950. WELCOME TO NORDKAPP !
