My love of poetry inspires me to paint. Each calligram painting is created by the words of a Persian poem I love. For example, the poem in the store banner is an ecstatic Rumi poem outlining the bodies of two dancers. Their bodies spell, "Dance when you are shattered. Dance when you are free...."
Traditional style of Persian or Arabic calligraphy is not used in these paintings. This work is primitive and often asymmetrical. All mistakes are left untouched. Look in the description section of product for more details.
